Justin Timberlake: Frank Ocean should’ve won a Grammy

Justin Timberlake says Frank Ocean’s LP ‘Blonde’ should’ve won Album of The Year at the Grammys.
The ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ singer has seemingly taken a swipe at British pop superstar Adele after telling his 58.2 million followers that he thinks the 29-year-old rapper was the "real" winner of the prestigious accolade and that the ‘Hello’ hitmaker’s record ’25’, which won, wasn’t as good as the ‘Swim Good’ singer’s release.
Congratulating Ocean on his new song with Calvin Harris called ‘Slide’, he wrote in a series of tweets on the micro-blogging site: "That Calvin Harris/Frank Ocean/Migos tho…….. While I’m at it … Frank Ocean had the REAL Album Of The Year with BLONDE. #NotFakeNews (sic)"
However, there was no way that Ocean could have picked up the prize as he didn’t submit his record for consideration because he felt the system was outdated, and out of touch with young black artists.
At the time, he said: "I think the infrastructure of the awarding system and the nomination system and screening system is dated."
He then became involved in a feud with the producers of the bash after he said that the ceremony puts millions of people "to sleep" and they’re being forced to turn to YouTube to watch their favourite performers from the night.
He said previously: "Believe the people. Believe the ones who’d rather watch select performances from your program on YouTube the day after because your show puts them to sleep. Use the old gramophone to actually listen bro, I’m one of the best alive."
Grammys producer Ken Ehrlich and writer David Wild hit out at Ocean after he said the show was "dated", but they believed his gripe was actually over his shoddy 2013 appearance.
They said: "We executed his vision knowing that it was faulty. And we tried to tell him that, we tried to tell his management that, we tried to tell the record label that. So, his feelings about the Grammys right now, I would imagine, probably go back to that in one way. But honestly, it wasn’t us."
