Julia Louis-Dreyfus battled cancer with humour

Julia Louis-Dreyfus wanted to fight breast cancer "with a sense of humour".
The 57-year-old actress admitted she would have usually dealt with her medical situation in private, but because work on ‘Veep’ would have to be halted while she sought treatment, she went public with the news and decided to try and take a light-hearted approach to battling the disease.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: "Originally, I’ll be honest with you, something like this journey I’d been on, I normally wouldn’t share such a private thing publicly
"[However], I knew it would get out there because I knew we had to shut down production for a number of months in order to accommodate my situation.
"So then I thought, ‘Well, I’m just going to embrace this and attack it and try to do it with a sense of humour. I was really pleased with the reaction."
After Julia had her final chemotherapy session in January, she shared a video her sons Henry, 26, and 21-year-old Charlie – who she has with husband Brad Hall – had recorded to support her, featuring them lip syncing to Michael Jackson’s ‘Beat It’ and the actress thought it was the perfect tribute.
She said: "It had a sense of humour and it had a kind of ‘kick cancer in the ass’ kind of point of view."
And now her cancer is in remission, Julia is back at work on the political comedy and "savouring every second".
She added: "All the elements [are coming] together, it’s really kind lightning in a bottle. So I am relishing every blessed second."
Julia recently admitted she is "grateful" to be alive after her cancer battle.
She said: "I’m grateful to be alive. I’m grateful for my heroic husband and our lovely young boys, or young men, I should say, who are our boys. And my friends and family. I’m grateful I have the life I have."
