Judy Murray wants to compete on Great British Bake Off

Judy Murray wants to be a contestant on ‘Great British Bake Off’.
The 56-year-old Scottish tennis coach – who is the mother of 2013 Wimbledon champion Andy Murray and his brother Jamie – wants to test herself on the celebrity version of the BBC One cooking show, is screened as part of Comic Relief, as she thinks it would be good "fun" to test her culinary cake skills.
Judy – who made it to week eight when she competed on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ – exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I think that ‘Bake Off’ would be quite fun, yeah, anything that is trying something new and good fun."
Although Judy enjoyed being taught how to move around the ballroom by professional dancer Anton Du Beke she has not carried on dancing since appearing on the programme in 2014.
However, she is keen to do more dancing and is considering joining a Salsa or Zumba class.
She said: "I did three shows with Anton on his own tour with Erin last year just after we finished on ‘Strictly…’ and I’m going to do one of his celebrity cruises at the end of July for six nights which will be a giggle, but apart from that – no I haven’t [kept up with dancing].
"I really enjoyed learning to dance and as a form of keeping you active and as a form of exercise – there’s nothing better than exercise to music. But my life has no routine – no week is the same as each other, so I’m unable to go to classes. But if I did ever get to that stage I’d like to try salsa and Zumba because I do think it’s a perfect way for keeping yourself fit and having fun at the same time."
Judy was speaking to promote her role as Chief Foliage Officer for Pimm’s during the Wimbledon tennis championship in London, which began on Monday (27.06.16).
She was chosen for the job by the alcoholic drink brand as she hates it when the tipple – associated with summer and tennis – is served with too much mint.
