Judy Murray will compete on the new series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The tennis coach – the mother of former Wimbledon winner Andy Murray and his tennis player brother Jamie Murray – is the second celebrity to be confirmed for the BBC One ballroom show following the announcement that The Saturdays singer Frankie Sandford will be taking part.
A post on the programme’s official Twitter account, BBC Strictly, featured a photo of Judy holding a scoring paddle and a tennis ball, along with a tweet that read "look who’s all set for Strictly. The lovely Judy Murray @judmoo, that’s who. Serve-en! (sic)".
Judy cannot wait to get started because she is such a massive fan of the series.
She said: "I’m a huge ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ fan but a total armchair dancer. It’s going to be a big challenge for me and for whoever has to dance with me but I absolutely can’t wait to get started!"
Other celebrities rumoured to be taking part in this year’s series include former ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star Mark Wright, ‘Match of the Day’ pundit Alan Hansen and rugby player Thom Evans.
