Joss Stone cancels Caribbean dates to be with poorly dog

Joss Stone has cancelled her Caribbean tour dates to be with her poorly dog.
The 29-year-old singer has axed her show in Barbados tonight (16.04.16) as well as gigs in Trinidad and Tobago after learning that her Rottweiler Missy, who she considers the "closest thing" she has to a child, was rushed to the vets with life-threatening symptoms.
And while she admits it might sound "ridiculous" she wanted to return home to the UK to be by the ailing animal’s side to check she was on the mend before rescheduling the dates.
A statement posted to Joss’ Facebook page yesterday (15.04.16), read: "I am very sad to announce that I have to postpone the show in Barbados and also Trinidad and Tobago . Hopefully I will be able to return in time for the gig in Venezuela if all is well.
"Last night my dog Missy got rushed to the vets with internal bleeding, I was told she could have only a few hours to live. Luckily she made it through the night and they are now working hard to find out what is wrong and save her. Missy is the closest thing I have to a child. I know to some that may sound ridiculous but for me it is everything.
I have to go back and make sure she is ok before I can continue with the tour. (sic)"
The ‘Feel in Love With a Boy’ hitmaker has asked her fans to "say a prayer" for Missy and admitted she doesn’t know how she’ll cope without her canine friend should anything happen to her.
She continued: "I hope that those who have planned to attend the shows can understand. I will come back I promise, but right now Missy comes first.
Please say a prayer for Missy. I don’t know what I will do if she is not around. I can’t bear the thought. Please say a prayer even if you don’t believe in God, just put out some good energy for her. (sic)"
Missy has always been there for Joss even when thugs attempted to kidnap her in her Devon home in June 2011.
