Josh Hartnett set for A Moment to Remember

Josh Hartnett has opened talks to star in new independent drama ‘A Moment to Remember’.
The ‘Penny Dreadful’ star has been approached to play the lead male role in director Ben Lewin’s next project, according to Deadline.
Lewin – whose previous work includes 2012’s ‘The Sessions’ and 1991 film ‘The Favour, the Watch, and the Very Big Fish’ – has penned the screenplay with ‘Erin Brockovich’ writer Susannah Grant (Erin Brockovich) and the plot follows a young woman who falls in love with a sweet down-to-earth guy.
The couple marry but then their relationship is wrecked when she develops a rare case of early-onset Alzheimer’s leaving her man to care for her as the condition takes hold.
Jena Malone was cast in the project back in May as the female lead and if Hartnett, 38, accepts the role he will portray the husband.
The movie is being financed by Sobini Films and Scott Lambert and Mark Amin are producing.
Shooting on the project is scheduled to begin in November.
Hartnett currently splits his time between the UK and the US after having a daughter with British actress Tamsin Egerton.
His role as Ethan Chandler in ‘Penny Dreadful’ has come to an end after the TV series was cancelled after three seasons.
Hartnett’s next big screen role is as an Olympic hockey player in Scott Waugh’s ‘6 Below’ and is also starring opposite Charlotte Rampling and John Rhys-Davies in Lech Majewski’s sci-fi movie ‘Valley of the Gods’.
