Josh Duhamel: Family tradition is important

Josh Duhamel feels family tradition is important and he wants his son to volunteer when he’s older.
The 41-year-old actor, who has eight-month-old son Axl with wife and Black Eyed Peas frontwoman Fergie, helped others when he was a child having been introduced to volunteering by his parents and he wants his child to follow in his footsteps.
He told PEOPLE Magazine: "As a kid, my mother encouraged us to get involved. But when you’re a kid you don’t really want to do stuff like that. You want to do fun stuff. But I always remembered it being fulfilling.
"I want my son to understand that he is very fortunate and it’s important to appreciate that and give back."
Josh is teaching by example and has been planning a benefit concert with the Black Eyed Peas in his hometown on Minot in North Dakota, which was hit by a devastating flood in 2011.
He has teamed up with the Advil Relief in Action campaign, which encourages volunteering, to raise money for the cause and help local people to get their lives back on track.
Josh said: "According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the rate of volunteerism in 2013 was the lowest it’s been since 2002. That is amazing to me. Programs like this encourage people to get involved. It truly brings out the best of people."
