Jonathan Ross, Abbey Clancey and Gok Wan are to appear in a celebrity version of ‘The Great British Bake Off’ for Comic Relief.
The trio of stars have been shooting the charity special at Valentines Mansion in Ilford, Essex, and chat show host Jonathan, 53, has reportedly been on top form, cracking out some euphemistic one-liners in the tent which are set to have audiences howling.
A show insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "The celebrity special is going to be absolutely hilarious. Jonathan was being a real joker on set. He came out with some tasty double entendres that would make even Mel and Sue blush.
"Unfortunately his baking didn’t quite make the same impact."
But while Jonathan has been focusing his attention on his gags rather than his gateaux, model Abbey – the wife of soccer player Peter Crouch – has her eyes on the prize and is determined to claim the culinary crown.
She reportedly told the show’s crew: "I’m here to win it with my dumplings and cheese straws."
And it seems her efforts haven’t gone unnoticed, with the notoriously tough judges Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry being pleasantly surprised by the 28-year-old blonde beauty’s talents in the kitchen.
The insider added: "Abbey was having a whale of a time. She impressed the judges with her cooking and had a real skill with the dough."
Sadly for 40-year-old Gok his dish fell flat, with judge Paul commenting that it had "more style than substance".
The one-off celebrity special of the hit BBC1 show is set to air in the New Year.
