Jon Voight praises wonderful granddaughter

Jon Voight says it was "wonderful" watching his granddaughter in ‘Maleficent’.
The veteran actor was thrilled to see five-year-old Vivienne Jolie-Pitt appear alongside his daughter Angelina Jolie – who made her own acting debut alongside her father in 1982’s ‘Lookin’ to Get Out’ when she was four years old – in the new Disney movie and is incredibly proud of them both.
He said: "[Vivienne was] magnificent. She’s wonderful.
"It was a very lovely moment to see Angie with her on screen, and they were terrific together. It was just great.
"It’s the most wonderful thing when you see your little granddaughter, just like when I saw Angie on the screen, you know."
However, the 75-year-old star insists it is impossible to compare Vivienne and Angelina’s movie debuts.
He said: "You can’t compare them because each one is themselves. But it was really a knockout to see her. I’m telling you. It was great."
Angelina – who also raises sons Maddox, 12, Pax, 10, and Vivienne’s twin Knox, as well as daughters Zahara, nine, and Shiloh, eight, with fiance Brad Pitt – was delighted at how easily her youngest girl adjusted to being on camera.
She said: "That’s just Vivienne. We call her my shadow. She’s a very… she’s wonderfully affectionate, very much a mommy’s girl and so it was a natural fit. It was very easy and very fun to do."
