Johnny Vegas’ mother dies

Johnny Vegas’ mother has died.
The heartbroken comedian paid tribute to his late mum Patricia after she sadly passed away last Sunday (17.11.19) at the age of 82.
Patricia underwent major surgery earlier this month at St Helens Whiston hospital but passed away "peacefully in her sleep" less than a week later.
Johnny – whose real name is Michael Joseph Pennington – took to Twitter to tell his supportive fans the devastating news.
He wrote: "With a kind of deep regret that I’m still incapable of processing, I have to confirm that Ma Vegas, Patricia, passed away last Sunday, peacefully in her sleep."
The 49-year-old comic honoured his beloved "Ma" by sweetly admitting she was "the best".
He added: "To say she was a bit of a character would be too huge an underestimation. As a Mum I dare to argue I had the best x"
The post was accompanied by photo of Patrica holding a dog, and another one of a letter.
It read: "Dear Michael, lots of love and kisses mum. Look after yourself and if you get short of money please come back home. God bless. Mum and Dad."
Johnny’s dad Lawrence suddenly passed away from cancer in 2018 after the disease was found to have spread, meaning that any treatment would be futile.
In an interview on ‘Loose Women’, Johnny previously said: "I haven’t dealt with it, I haven’t mourned him yet, I’ve got no idea of what mourning is. I haven’t had the cry yet. In fact, I’m angry at him for going as quickly as he did.
"I don’t accept his death. I’m angry I don’t think about him on a daily basis but I don’t want to accept he’s gone. I feel guilty that I don’t think about him on a daily basis. Things don’t go back to normal."
Patricia had been in and out of hospital the last month as Johnny tweeted earlier this month that his mum was turned away from an A&E department after she had to wait three hours for an ambulance.
He wrote: "3 hour wait on an ambulance but A&E had to close its doors, full to capacity. Why be angry at the incredible folk working under unbelievable stress? I remain grateful, my bitterness belongs to @BorisJohnson @Conservatives at your neglect of our @NHSuk & blatant drive to privatise"
