Johnny Knoxville is set to star in comedy ‘Sick Day’.
The 43-year-old actor – who was catapulted to the spotlight following MTV series ‘Jackass’ – is attached to the forthcoming picture which will follow a group of friends in their 30s who call in sick one day a year so they can reunite, reports Deadline.com.
Jeremy Garelick will direct, while Jordan Cahan will re-write the script originated by Garelick, since he’s busy in post-production on ‘The Wedding Ringer’ – which stars Kevin Hart, Josh Gad and Olivia Thirlby.
Brian Grazer is producing for Imagine Entertainment alongside Kim Roth and Edward Bates who will work under his Bates Entertainment banner.
Last year Knoxville wrote and produced ‘Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa’ and hit the big screen in ‘The Last Stand’, ‘Movie 43’, and ‘Small Apartments’.
He recently lent his voice to the character of Leonardo for the forthcoming ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ which is being directed by Jonathan Liebesman and is based on the franchise of the same name.
