Johnny Borrell: Razorlight could make another LP

Johnny Borrell would be up for making another Razorlight album.
The ‘America’ hitmaker would love the chance to get back in the studio with his band – which was also comprised of David Sullivan Kaplan, Gus Robertson and João Mello in its final incarnation – but it would have to be for the right reasons if they were to make a follow-up to 2008’s ‘Slipway Fires’.
Asked if he’d be up for reuniting with his band mates, he exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "We’ve never officially split up! I always say Razorlight is an open book and one day there may be another record. But to do it for any reason other than because we felt we had some great music to give the world, and each other, wouldn’t be right."
The 36-year-old rocker – who is currently focused on his new band Johnny Borrell and Zazou – revealed Razorlight, in any of its line-ups, wasn’t "the most social band in history", but he’d love to work with their original drummer Christian Smith-Pancorvo again.
Johnny has been in touch with Chris again and praised him for being a "huge part" of their initial success.
He said: "We weren’t the most social band in history, even back then, but I messaged Christian the other day, it was great to connect, he’s in Colombia … Maybe a little too far for a jam, but I’d be up for it. I loved the way he approached the kit. I think he was a huge part of the original Razorlight sound of our first album. The other guys, we say hi if our paths cross, there’s no animosity. We all shared an incredible journey back then."
