John Partridge reveals mother died with no money

John Partridge reveals his mother died with "zero" in her bank account after having to pay large sums of money for her care home medical bills.
The actor, who starred on ‘EastEnders’ until 2012, went onto ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ last year to raise money to pay for his mother’s care home bills but on Thursday (11.05.17) he revealed his mother Bridget who had Alzheimer’s died three weeks ago with no money left.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, the 44-year-old star said: "Mum passed away three weeks ago with zero in her bank account. Zero. I wish she had enjoyed the money. She saved for the wrong things, she saved for her family. It was devastating. Mum worked so hard every day of her life. That was all she had."
His mother was diagnosed with the illness in 2010 and the actor told the chat show he had to sell his family home to pay the £45,000-a-year care home bills.
John told the producers of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ the reason for entering the show in order to pay the bills and to help fund her medical needs. He came sixth on the programme.
Back in 2014, John left the soap after he revealed the stress of seeing his mother develop the disease and said the condition as one of the major reasons for leaving the show and he admitted he lost four stone since due to stress.
He said: "My advice would be to parents to bequeath money to your children now otherwise you’ll be left with nothing.
"She would be heartbroken if she realised what had happened now."
To put a family member in a care home costs roughly £700 for a private care home or around £486 if the local council pays some of it.
