John Boyega wanted for Black Panther

John Boyega is being lined-up for a role in ‘Black Panther’.
The ‘Star Wars: Force Awakens’ actor is reportedly in negotiations to board the Marvel movie, which already boasts an impressive ensemble in Chadwick Boseman as the titular superhero and Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong’o in as-yet unknown roles.
According to movie new website Best of Marvel, Boyega posted a photo labelled "Meeting" to his Snapchat account shortly before Marvel studio boss Kevin Feige started following the actor on Twitter
And rumours were fuelled after fellow movie site Heroic Hollywood claimed a source informed them that Boyega has already met with the studio executive.
However, it’s not known who the 24-year-old actor will play if he takes on the role.
Meanwhile, director Ryan Coogler and Jordan are reuniting on the title, after receiving critical acclaim for their work on ‘Rocky’ sequel ‘Creed’ last year.
It’s believed Jordan will play a villain, and Nyong’o is being tipped to star as Black Panther’s love interest, though exactly which one of the superhero’s former flames she will depict is not known.
Boseman first played Black Panther and his alter ego T’Challa in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ which is currently in cinemas.
The plot of the standalone film – due out in 2018 – is believed to expand on the storyline that was introduced, of how T’Challa becomes the Black Panther.
T’Challa’s father T’Chaka is king of the African nation Wakanda and has the ceremonial title Black Panther as the chief of the Panther Tribe, but is murdered when a bomb goes off at the UN making his son the Black Panther.
‘Captain America: Civil War’ director Joe Russo said: "There will be a long lasting fallout from the events of this movie. It will significantly alter the psychology of the Marvel Cinematic Universe moving forward."
Production on the movie will kick off in January 2017.
