John Altman has teased a "pretty evil" ‘EastEnders’ storyline involving his character Nick Cotton.
The 62-year-old actor has appeared in the soap on-and-off since 1985, and hinted at more despicable behaviour from his criminal character Nasty Nick.
In a previous storyline, he attempted to poison his on screen mum Dot Cotton (June Brown) and suggested his upcoming plot will be equally horrible.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he said: "He’s going to be just as nasty [as the plot to kill Dot]. It’s pretty evil, pretty awful. A bit of a shocker but I can’t say what it is."
Nasty Nick returned to screens last month after five years away from the BBC One show – a move which shocked Albert Square residents who had been led to believe he was dead.
However, now that the bad boy is back in Walford, John said he has a hectic schedule ahead of him due to the plot in which he is involved.
He added: "They offered me a pretty big storyline. I didn’t think it would make any difference going back one more time in terms of being typecast."
Upon rejoining the soap, Altman has observed it has evolved in a huge way since he originally joined the cast almost 30 years ago
Talking about the changes to ‘EastEnders’, he said: "It’s so much bigger. It’s a huge operation. It’s hard work and it takes over your life when you’ve got a big storyline."
Meanwhile, Altman has released a Christmas single, a festive rendition of Iggy Pop’s ‘Real Wild Child (Wild One)’, with all-girl rock band JOANovARC.
The single is out now and can be downloaded from iTunes.
