Joey Essex to quiz UK politicians

Joey Essex is set to quiz the UK’s political leaders.

In a special episode of ‘Educating Joey Essex’, the former ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star will be interviewing the leaders of four of the major political parties in the UK – the Conservative Prime Minister David Cameron, Labour leader Ed Miliband, current Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the Liberal Democrats party Nick Clegg and UKIP’s Nigel Farage – and he’s confessed he’s looking forward to taking some "reem selfies" with them.

He said: "I’ve never voted before, but I’m really excited about getting to meet some of the most important people in the country to help me make my decision. I reckon I’ll take some pretty reem selfies too."

In the run up to the General Election in May, the 24-year-old television personality will grill the leaders in four separate "sit-down chats".

An insider told The Sun newspaper: "The show will follow Joey’s journey learning about politics. He will meet the leaders in different environments, such as at rallies and events but they will all be proper sit-down chats.

"Joey is the voice of youth and hugely influential and they all recognise the value in that. By the end he can hopefully make the decision to vote because at the moment he doesn’t have a clue about any of it."

Meanwhile, Joey previously admitted he doesn’t know much about politics.

He said: "I used to do politics in school but they didn’t teach me the Prime Ministers. They taught me stuff like, things about the City… Is that politics?

"I would quite like to be the Prime Minister of Essex."

‘Educating Joey Essex: General Election, what are you saying?!’ will air on ITV2 later this year.
