Joel Corry wants to keep ‘experimenting’ with his music

Joel Corry says he loves “experimenting” with his music and staying “ahead of the trend”.

The 34-year-old DJ, who rose to prominence in 2019 with hit single ‘Sorry’, recently released his debut LP ‘Another Friday Night’ that features old bangers as well as new music and is ready to amp it up a gear with the addition of trance tracks.

Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column, he said: “My latest song ‘0800 Heaven’ with Nathan Dawe and Ella Henderson is like 140bpm, it’s almost like a trance record, so very different to sorry which came out four or five years ago. I enjoy evolving, experimenting, and staying ahead of the trends.

“And the new song on the album ‘Hey DJ’ is definitely in that sort of trance lane as well – it’s been going off so much in my DJ sets.”

Joel, who confirmed dating rumours with Love Island’s 2022 star Coco Lodge earlier in August, said all work and no play makes it hard for him to maintain a relationship.

He added: “It’s really difficult to sustain any kind of relationship because I am literally in a different country every day.

“I almost have to schedule any down time or date nights into my calendar and let my manager know, ‘Look on this day I will be going out for dinner with someone’ It’s really tricky, and it’s not ideal to have to schedule any time together in your calendar in advance as its nice to be spontaneous, but I just can’t do that.”
