Joe Wicks ‘earns £1.6m over past year after virtual PE sessions’

Joe Wicks has earned £1.6 million over the past year.

The Body Coach is said to have earned the huge sum after becoming the nation’s fitness instructor during the coronavirus pandemic lockdown, with his ‘PE With Joe’ classes on YouTube, which proved incredibly popular with more than a million viewers per session at their peak.

According to The Sun newspaper, figures for Joe’s companies revealed a massive spike for the time period, which includes the first week of quarantine.

The Bodycoach Online Nutrition Limited company saw an increase from £2.3 million to £3.6 million by the end of March.

Meanwhile, another firm called Joe Wicks Limited saw retained earnings shoot up by £300,000 to almost £3.5 million.

Back in April, Joe revealed he had donated thousands of pounds from his videos to the NHS.

He added: "I’m not benefiting financially, I’m giving it all back."

The 33-year-old fitness coach brought his sessions to an end last month after raising more than £580,000 for the NHS.

He hosted his final class on July 22 as he was joined by his model wife Rosie Jones and their children Indie and Marley for the last instalment.

As they danced and jumped around to song ‘From Now On’, from ‘The Greatest Showman’ movie, Joe and Rosie let off numerous party poppers, and he admitted he will be back with more online classes at some point.

He said: "That is the end of ‘PE With Joe’. Thank you so much for taking part. Thank you to everyone that’s taken part.

"I’ve loved it so much and I will miss you all. I will be back. I’m going to have a little break and I will be doing more live workouts throughout the year. I’m really emotional. Rosie is crying."
