Joe Swash wants Paul Gascoigne for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

Joe Swash wants Paul Gascoigne to take part in ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’

The former ‘EastEnders’ actor – who hosts spin-off show ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! NOW!’ alongside Laura Whitmore and comedian Rob Beckett – has revealed he’d love to see the troubled former footballer appear on the show if he can overcome his struggle with alcoholism.

Joe exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I’m a big fan of Paul Gascoigne so if he can keep himself fit and healthy he’d be good in there."

The 33-year-old star – who is set to appear on the Paddy McGuinness-hosted game show ‘Celebrity Benchmark’ tomorrow (03.10.15) – added that he’d like to see axed ‘X Factor’ judge Louis Walsh enter the jungle despite claims he’s turned down £500,000 to take part.

The flame-haired presenter added: "Louis Walsh is hanging about at the moment, he’d be good. He cracks me up, he’d have me in stitches."

Meanwhile, Joe has joked that he’s "waiting in the wings" if presenting duo Ant & Dec decided to retire from hosting the main show.

Asked if he’s picked up any tips from them or comedian Paddy, he added: "I feel like I’m doing my apprenticeship at the moment so one day when Ant & Dec and Paddy McGuinness and all that lot, when they’re too old, then yeah hopefully I’ll be waiting in the wings.

"I’m so lucky because I get a chance to work with Ant & Dec for seven weeks of the year so I get to watch them and just watching the way they are with the crew, the way they are on set … I mean I’ve learnt so much from them anyway but I’m secretly taking tips."

‘Celebrity Benchmark’ is on Channel 4 on Saturdays at 7pm.
