Joe McElderry thinks The Jump is ‘most dangerous’ show on TV

Joe McElderry believes ‘The Jump’ is one of most dangerous shows on TV.
The 26-year-old singer was crowned the champion of the winter sports show in 2014 but he has admitted he was very lucky to come away with as little injuries as he did as some of his co-stars have been left with permanent damage.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he said: "When I came out of it at the end I really felt as though I learned a new skill. ‘The Jump’ was terrifying but I did have a great time, we lived in Austria for a month in the mountains, but every day you would would wake up at 6am and be like, ‘What is going to happen to me by the end of today?’ I was lucky to be on it, and I was lucky with injuries."
The ‘X Factor’ hunk wasn’t initially on the line up for the programme but he was pulled in at the last minute because so many contestants had pulled out due to injury.
He explained: "I wasn’t supposed to be on it, I was actually on a skiing holiday with friends and family and one of the producers saw me on Instagram on holiday.
"Then what happened was because they ran out of celebrities due to injuries they were looking for people who could come in and do the show. I was having a bit of a break from work, then my manager called me and said: ‘There’s a car picking you up from your hotel at 6am, and then you start filming.’ It was very last minute for me, which I think was good because I didn’t have time to think about it and psych myself up. The other guys had been training for months and the pressure had built up.
"The worst thing to happen to me was a few bruises and aches. Some of the injuries were serious, it is a serious show and you have to brave to go on it.
"Skiing is a serious holiday, you had cameras to that mix and people who want to be competitive with each other it’s a recipe for disaster."
