Joe Lycett to host new BBC Saturday night game show

Joe Lycett has been chosen to host a new Saturday night game show for the BBC.
Following the revival of ‘The Generation Game’ with Mel and Sue, BBC One are launching ‘The Time It Takes’, which will challenge contestants to answer questions in the time it takes to complete silly tasks, and the 29-year-old comedian will front the new flagship light entertainment show.
Joe told The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: "Never before has so much relied on someone knowing how long a kettle takes to boil.
"’The Time It Takes’ is one of the most brilliantly daft shows I’ve ever been involved in – and that’s saying something."
The show – to air later this year – will see members of the public race to answer as many questions as possible in the time it takes to carry out silly tasks, such as solving a Rubik’s cube underwater and deflating an air bed and putting it back in its original box.
The eight-part series, made by Hat Trick productions, will also feature celebrities such as Sinitta running to the top of an escalator in a shopping centre, and astrologer Russell Grant attempting to get in and out of a wet suit.
The winners will bag a dream holiday, while the losers will be given a souvenir tea towel to take home.
Rising star Joe has also just been given his own series on Channel 4 – Joe Lycett’s ‘Got Your Back’.
The series will follow Joe as he tours the UK using his well-known complaining skills to serve his idea of justice to officials on behalf of the public.
Joe said: "Having spent most of my life sending a***y emails to companies and local councils it is a great treat to now have an amazing crack team to escalate my consumer rights fight and needlessly waste corporate time."
The show will work on behalf of the British population to rectify poor customer service and unacceptable consumer standards.
