Jessica Simpson was put off becoming an astronaut because she hated the ice cream at space camp.
The singer and fashion designer used to want to fly around space as her job but her aspirations were cruelly crushed because she couldn’t stomach the sweet treat they served up while she was training to be an astronaut.
She said: "My first dream was to be an astronaut. I even went to space camp, but then I tried their ice cream and was like, ‘There’s no way.’ "
While the 34-year-old star didn’t manage to land her initial dream job, Jessica – who has daughter Maxwell, two, and son, Ace, 14 months, with husband Eric Johnson – is pleased she gets the chance to design clothing that helps women to feel confident about themselves.
She added to PEOPLE magazine: "Seeing people wearing the things that you’ve designed is the best feeling on the planet. There’s nothing better than knowing you’re making women feel confident around the world.
"I don’t feel like I have expectations to live up to. What’s more important is understanding the everyday woman, and I think I know how to connect to her. I’ve been every size and shape, and I’ve dressed every one of my friends.
"The responses I get from my fans give me purpose."
