Jessica Fox on Hollyoaks’ Nancy confession

Jessica Fox has admitted her ‘Hollyoaks’ alter ego Nancy Osborne "gets it a bit wrong" when she decides to confess to sleeping with her estranged husband.
The teacher sought comfort in Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) when they were trapped in the tunnels beneath the village during the recent disaster week and footage from the show’s winter trailer offered a glimpse of Nancy telling Mandy Richardson (Sarah Jayne Dunn) that she’d bedded her partner.
And Jessica has explained Nancy wants to put things right because she’s so "embarrassed and devastated" by what she did, but doesn’t go about things in the most sensible way.
Discussing Nancy’s New Year’s Eve confession, Jessica told What’s On TV magazine: "Nancy is embarrassed and devastated that she has been carrying this secret, and feels she has mucked up and needs to put things right, and one of the best ways she can do that is by being honest with people.
"And for some reason, she decides the best thing to do is confront Mandy and tell her in front of everyone!
"She doesn’t care that much about Mandy’s feelings. They’ve formed a friendship again, but she’s still the woman who stole her husband! She wants to start the New Year with no regrets, and gets it a bit wrong to be honest."
The fallout from Nancy’s confession sees Mandy lashing out at Darren, while her own boyfriend, Kyle Kelly (Adam Rickett) is left equally devastated and there are consequences for the character.
Jessica admitted: "This is the last thing she wanted to happen. I don’t know what possesses her to do this, but she does it, and she has to face up to what she has done."
