Jessica Alba’s emotional Teen Choice Awards speech

Jessica Alba called for the end to gun violence at the Teen Choice Awards.
The 35-year-old actress made an emotional speech at the ceremony on Sunday (31.07.16), which was held at The Forum in Inglewood, Los Angeles, where she was joined on stage by a group of teenagers whose loved ones were slain in shootings in San Bernardino, California; Newton, Connecticut; and Orlando, Florida.
She asked viewers to tweet the hashtag #StopTheViolence and said: "Together, we stand with these teens. Now more than ever, we need to stop, feel and ask what’s going on.
"It keeps happening, and it has to stop."
Along with Jessica’s powerful words, Justin Timberlake gave an emotional and inspiring speech in which he told the teenagers in the audience that their choices matter.
Picking up the show’s first-ever Decade Award, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his ‘FutureSex/LoveSounds’ album, Justin said: "I’m here to tell you that you and your choices matter. My parents taught me to respect, respect myself and respect all people on the basis of their character.
"Be part of the solution, not part of the problem. Don’t waste your 20s … be nice to your parents – I hope my son watches this one day. Go out, do the impossible and go on and become the greatest generation yet.
"What we do after that fall is how we make history because impossible is nothing."
Actress Victoria Justice and wrestler John Cena hosted the ceremony, where TV show ‘Pretty Little Liars’ picked up six surfboard trophies, including Choice TV drama.
Dylan O’Brien, who did not attend, won four awards while 5 Seconds of Summer and Fifth Harmony each picked up three awards.
Exes Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez claimed the Choice Male and Female Music Artists awards while ‘Neighbors 2’ co-stars Chloe Grace Moretz and Zac Efron won the comedy acting gongs.
And Daisy Ridley beat off competition from her ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ co-star John Boyega to win Choice Movie Breakout Star.
Serayah, Charlie Puth, Flo Rida and Bebe Rexha all performed at the ceremony.
