Jessica Alba isn’t a robot

Jessica Alba is no longer afraid of failure.

The 32-year-old actress and co-founder of The Honest Company used to feel she needed to be perfect but recently realised she doesn’t "have to be a robot."

The ‘Machete Kills’ star said: "Before, I was so fearful of failure and judgment that I was scared to put myself out there.

"You don’t have to be a robot, you don’t have to be appropriate all the time."

Jessica, who has two daughters, Honor, five, and Haven, two, with husband Cash Warren, also told the March issue of Nylon magazine that she "used to be so hard on myself," but has learnt to embrace her mistakes.

She said: "You have to realise that as along as you don’t make a habit of it, tomorrow will be here, and everything will be okay."

The Los Angeles-based star – who recently completed shooting two movies, ‘Stretch’ and ‘Dear Eleanor,’ and has five films in pre-production – has also developed a taste for characters who enable her to step outside her comfort zone, and believes acting is "like a drug."

She said: "I don’t have to be a boss; I don’t have to be a wife; I don’t have to be a sister.

"It’s been liberating to be able to play someone who’s a badass or promiscuous because that’s the opposite of who I am … It’s like a drug."
