Jessamy Stoddart backs Hollyoaks to come back stronger from coronavirus break

Jessamy Stoddart says ‘Hollyoaks’ will come back "bigger and better than ever".
Over the weekend, the Channel 4 soap announced it was suspending filming due to the coronavirus pandemic – while bosses have also reduced its weekly episodes from five to three – and the actress insists the team are looking after viewers.
Speaking to Digital Spy, she said: "We are all certain that we are going to be back, bigger and better than ever.
"The building might be closed, but the publicity team are still working and there’ll be brilliant content coming out for the fans.
"We’ll be airing our three episodes a week rather than five, but we’ll have the Best Bits episodes coming on screen too. Hopefully it will be like nothing has changed."
Meanwhile, Jessamy – who took over the role of Liberty Savage in 2018 following Abi Phillips’ departure three years earlier – revealed how the cast will be keeping in touch during the downtime.
She admitted: "We’ll only be seeing each other through apps like Houseparty. Other than that, we’re all in the confines of our houses.
"It’s actually been lovely, I’m speaking to people way more than I would be if I was doing a normal working week. We’ll all be in contact, but it’ll be via the internet."
Soap bosses confirmed filming was being paused during the ongoing crisis, and April 2, a special ‘Hollyoaks Favourites’ series will launch on E4 on Thursdays and Fridays.
The statement read: "Soaps are an important part of people’s lives and we have 25 years of ‘Hollyoaks Favourites’ to revisit over coming weeks, celebrating the history of the show that you love.
"We will remain as present as ever on our social platforms so please keep in touch with us here, stay safe and take care of yourselves. Thank you for your ongoing support."
