Jeremy McConnell will be a ‘good dad’ to son Caben

Jeremy McConnell has promised to be a "good father" to his son Caben.
The former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star hasn’t seen 13-month-old Caben for seven months because his ex-girlfriend Stephanie Davis has a three-year restraining against him after he was found guilty of beating her up during a blazing row last year.
But the 28-year-old hunk – who spent time in prison for his crime – is adamant he’ll "make it up" to the little one once the court order has been lifted.
Speaking to The Sun Online, he said: "There’s personal stuff I’ve done for Caben, like Birthday cards, and he will have them when I see him. I know I will be a good a good father to him when I get the chance.
"I have to look at his mother’s Instagram to watch Caben grow up. It’s sad but it’s the only option I have to see him. I know I will be a good father to him. I want to play football with him and be there for him. He’s the only blood link I have to my late mother and father. He means a lot to me and I will make it up to him.
"The next step is contact and mediation and, when the three year restraining order is over, we can sit down and focus on Caben and not us."
While he was in prison last year, Jeremy had a lot of time to think and realises now that he and Stephanie – who dated on and off for a year – aren’t right for each other.
He explained: "I should be held responsible for what I did that day. I got sent to prison and I did the time. I hit self-destruct, it was my lowest point. Jail gave me time to reflect and I’ll never make those mistakes again. You have to man up and accept reality. We weren’t good together it doesn’t mean we’re not good parents."
The 24-year-old actress has since moved on and found love with Jacob Gill – who is known for being a "party boy" – but Jeremy doesn’t have a problem with him raising Caben as he knows Stephanie is a "decent judge of character."
He said: "Caben’s mother is a decent judge of character to have someone around my son and I am alright with that. If I met him I would shake his hand."
And Stephanie isn’t the only one who has found love as Jeremy also has a new girlfriend – whose identity he wants to keep a secret – and can see him settling down and having children with her one day
He added: "I’ve met someone now. She’s taught me a lot about that and she’s made me very happy. I can’t hide forever who I’m with but she’s made me feel strong again.
"I see myself with a wife and a family. I just want to be happy and move on with this girl. It’s baby steps."
