Jeremy Clarkson’s new Amazon show to be called The Grand Tour

Jeremy Clarkson’s Amazon Prime motoring show finally has a name.
The TV presenter and his former ‘Top Gear’ co-stars, Richard Hammond and James May, have been filming the show over the past few months and on Wednesday (11.05.16) Jeremy revealed it will be called ‘The Grand Tour’.
He tweeted: "Start the smoke. We have a name. So, the Grand Tour (GT for short) will come from a tent, which we will put up in a different location every week. Your town? (sic)."
Amazon explained why the name was chosen, explaining that the trio will take their show on the road, visiting different locations every week.
The company said: "After months of deliberation and lots of useful suggestions from the public, for which the guys are very grateful, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have decided that, because they are taking their new Amazon Prime Show around the world, it will be called ‘The Grand Tour’.
"Not only will the guys travel to different locations, but for the first time ever the studio audience recordings will travel every week, all housed within a giant tent. Amazon customers will have the chance to be in the audience when tickets are released through prize draws this summer."
Jeremy added: "Thing is. We’ll be travelling the world hosting each episode in a different country, from a giant tent. It’s a sort of "grand tour", if you like. So we’ve decided to call it ‘The Grand Tour’."
And Jay Marine, VP of Amazon Video Europe said: "After nine months of deep thought, debate and deliberation, the guys have come up with a name that reflects the global ambition of the new show. ‘The Grand Tour’ will be one of the most anticipated TV launches ever, and we’re excited to be bringing it to Amazon Prime customers around the world this autumn."
