Jenny Ryan’s ‘tough’ X Factor Celebrity final preparation

Jenny Ryan says her ‘The X Factor: Celebrity’ final preparation has been "tough" because she has been filming ‘The Chase’ in between rehearsals.
The 37-year-old quizzer admits she has had to put in "a lot of graft" this week because as well as practising her tune for this weekend’s finale, she has been shooting the ITV quiz programme and numerous backstage segments for the talent show.
She said: "It’s been tough. It’s a lot of graft, because I’ve been recording ‘The Chase’ at the same time as rehearsals, choreography, a lot of background filming with this usual behind the scenes stuff."
But Jenny loved filming her homecoming scenes yesterday (25.11.19), and has thanked fans for their support throughout the series.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, she added: "Yesterday I had my homecoming, which was wonderful.
"The thing that kept me going has been the public reaction. People enjoying my performances, but also they’ve taken from the fact that I’m not naturally a confident person.
"’The Chase’ is more my comfort zone."
Jenny has progressed to the final after initially being eliminated from the show at the first hurdle when Nicole Scherzinger sent her home from the auditions.
Afterwards, Jenny admitted she "cried a bit" and ate "quite a lot of ice cream" when she was initially rejected from the live finals.
She said: "I’d had the auditions and was told I wasn’t going through. I came home, cried a little bit, ate quite a lot of ice cream.
"I shouldn’t really do because it’s not really good for the throat.
"Then, I got a phone call after what felt like the longest time.
"It was quite a wait. I got a call from Simon inviting me to come back."
When asked if Simon had said that he or the show had "made a mistake", Jenny replied: "Not quite. But I inferred it from what he said."
Following Jenny’s axing after the auditions, several viewers took to social media to question why she was eliminated from the programme, and she admits the support gave her a huge boost.
She added: "I was not expecting that level of support from the public.
"After my first audition, the flood of comments I got on social media was overwhelming.
"I would spend half an hour looking at comments and then I would be crying too much.
"Even if I wasn’t through to the live shows, that wave of affection and admiration I got has got to be enough to lift anybody."
