Jenny Eclair hasn’t watched Loose Women since she was axed

Jenny Eclair hasn’t watched ‘Loose Women’ since she was axed.
The 58-year-old comedian sat on the lunch time show’s panel from 2011 until 2012 when she was dropped and replaced with actress Shobna Gulati but, although her stint was short-lived, she has admitted she’d be willing to go back if she was asked.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, she said: "I doubt I could go back to ‘Loose Women’. I would never say never because it’s a dead easy job. Although they’ve moved studios now which means it’s not as near my house, it’s a bit of a schlep!
However, Jenny has revealed she was "really upset and angry" when they let her go, but she was able to use her free time to write her third and fourth novels.
She explained: "I really enjoyed it for the year I was on it and I was really upset and angry when they let me go. But if I hadn’t been dropped then I wouldn’t have written my third or fourth novels, I wouldn’t have written ‘The Grumpy Show’, and I wouldn’t have written the biggest selling solo comedy show of my career. I wouldn’t have done a lot of things, I would have stuck in a studio having my hair and makeup down. I don’t watch it anymore, I don’t watch any daytime television because I’m a writer and I’m trying to write. I’m quite strict with myself during the day."
Jenny’s show ‘Grumpy Old Women’ ran from 2004 until 2007 but she doesn’t think it could be brought back because it’s been "too long" and times have moved on now.
She said: "’The Grumpy Old Women’ series was very popular but I don’t think it can be brought back. It’s a long time put to bed and when they tried to bring it back with a younger demographic it died on its arse. They tried to make them miserable and cross about things but it just didn’t hit home and didn’t hit true. There’s always the potential there but I’d be surprised if it did return."
Tickets are on sale for ‘Grumpy Old Women To The Rescue’ live stage show now.
