Jennifer Metcalfe will return to ‘Hollyoaks’ full time next month.
The brunette beauty announced last year she was departing her role as Mercedes McQueen and exited the soap when her character was apparently murdered in November, but a shock twist on last night’s (17.02.15) E4 episode saw her alive and well in France.
Jennifer tweeted afterwards: "It’s good to be back."
And it has been confirmed they announced her temporary absence from the show as permanent in order to protect a storyline which has seen Grace Black (Tamara Wall) try to frame Freddie Roscoe (Charlie Clapham) for Mercedes’ murder in revenge for him killing her father, a crime he has so far gone unpunished for.
The truth was revealed in the first look showing when Grace told Freddie’s older brother Joe Roscoe (Ayden Callaghan) what she had been planning and asked him for help.
Stunned Joe went looking for answers and found himself face-to-face with Mercedes at a luxury villa on the French Riviera.
Mercedes will appear in more scenes this week as the real story behind her disappearance unravels, ahead of a permanent return for the character in the weeks to come.
