Jemma Donovan hasn’t watched Jason Donovan’s Neighbours eps

Jemma Donovan hasn’t ever seen any of her dad’s ‘Neighbours’ episodes.
The 19-year-old actress will follow in her father Jason Donovan’s footsteps on Monday (15.07.19) when she makes her debut on the Channel 5 soap, but the Harlow Robinson actress admits she hasn’t seen her dad play Scott Robinson in a full episode before.
Asked if she’s watched any of her dad’s old episodes, she said: "I actually haven’t. I know that won’t win me daughter of the year.
"But I’ve seen brief clips and it’s so funny seeing him at my age in the same place."
Denise van Outen will play Harlow’s mum Prue in the soap, and Jemma cannot wait to shoot some scenes with the former ‘EastEnders’ star.
She added to Inside Soap magazine: "I haven’t started doing any scenes with her yet, but it’s so exciting.
"I really like her – she’s so lovely and has such great energy.
"I hope that’s reflected on screen."
Jemma recently revealed Jason – who played Scott from 1986 to 1989, 11 years before Jemma was born – burst into tears when she landed a part on the Australian soap.
She said: "He started crying when he found out. He was so happy for me.
"He’s a great supporter and I love having him by my side, which is great."
Asked whether she was always going to go into acting or entertaining, she said: "I think so. I always loved it when I was younger. I kind of stopped a little bit to do my school work.
"And I didn’t know whether I wanted to pursue it, but then I thought, ‘This is what I want to do.’ "
‘Neighbours’ airs Mondays to Fridays on Channel 5 at 1:45pm and 5:30pm.
