JB Gill to present children’s TV show

JB Gill is to present a five-part children’s show on his farm.

The 25-year-old singer – who starred in pop group JLS alongside Marvin Humes, Aston Merrygold and Oritsé Williams – bought the property in Orpington, Kent four years ago and is set to open his doors to welcome the CBeebies cameras for ‘Down On The Farm’.

JB – whose real name is Jonathan Benjamin – explained: "I spend a lot of time on the farm, so it will be great to share this experience with the CBeebies audience.

"This is a really exciting venture for me, and I look forward to learning more about farming throughout the show."

The programme will see JB explore the world of farming alongside fellow presenter Storm Huntley.

Kay Benbow, the Controller of CBeebies, said: "It’s fantastic to be able to add JB and Storm to the CBeebies family while educating our viewers.

"It will feed their inquisitiveness about the origins of their food, and will hopefully inspire the next generation of farmers."

Following JLS’ split in 2013, JB has been spending more time with his animals and has revealed he considers himself to be a full-time farmhand.

Speaking in 2014, he said: "I am a fully-fledged farmer now.

"If this year is a success I hope to breed turkeys for years to come."
