Jason Donovan ‘signs up’ for Dancing On Ice

Jason Donovan has reportedly signed up for ‘Dancing On Ice’.

The ‘Neighbours’ legend has already competed on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ back in 2011, and now it’s been claimed that the 52-year-old Australian actor-and-singer is set to hit the ice rink in 2021.

An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: "Jason is a great signing for the show as he has plenty of star power.

"He knows how to dance but if he thinks it’ll be any help once he’s on the ice he has another thing coming.

"He’s hoping to rank higher in this show than he did on ‘Strictly’, he just needs to find out if he can stay upright once he has his skates on."

And it looks like Jason is to be joined by other former ‘Strictly’ contestants on the rival show.

The tabloid also reports that Olympic athlete Colin Jackson – who came second on the BBC One Latin and ballroom show in 2005 with partner Erin Boag – has been booked for ITV’s ‘Dancing On Ice’.

A source said: "Colin is a real coup for ‘Dancing On Ice’ as they already know he has moves.

"But being on skates means he’s unlikely to have any advantage over other contestants as it’s a tricky surface to master.

"After Colin missed out on the glitterball trophy he’s keen to get his hands on the Ice version of it.

"Knowing just how competitive he is, he’s definitely one to watch out for."

It’s also been claimed that presenter Denise van Outen – another former ‘Strictly’ star – and WAG Rebecca Vardy have signed £40,000 and £50,000 deals, respectively, to take part.

A source told The Sun On Sunday newspaper: "Landing Becky is a huge coup.

"She’ll bring star quality to their line-up and interest from footie fans.

"Of course viewers will be watching for any references to Wagatha Christie."
