Jason Derulo to co-host Sounds Like Friday Night

Jason Derulo will co-host the first live episode of ‘Sounds Like Friday Night’.
The 28-year-old singer has agreed to front the BBC show alongside permanent presenters Greg James and Radio 1 Xtra’s Amplify Dot – also known as Dotty – at the BBC Television Centre on October 27, according to the Daily Mirror newspaper.
Not much else is known about the six-part series but it has been confirmed that the second show will see Liam Payne co-host, while Liam Gallagher performs.
Greg, 31 said recently: "We have been missing a prime time music show from our TV screens for far too long, so it’s fair to say being part of ‘Sounds Like Friday Night’ is something I’m really, really excited about.
"One thing that’s fantastic about the show is being able to provide new and emerging acts a home alongside the megastars, introducing them to a new audience.
"Also having the opportunity to interview and have a laugh with some of the biggest stars in the world, on the actual telly, is completely brilliant. I can’t wait to get going!"
Greg will be interviewing the bands and featuring alongside the lead hosts in sketches, while Dotty will be chatting with the guests and the audience and interacting with viewers via social media.
Dotty said: "I’m thrilled to be part of ‘Sounds Like Friday Night’, it’s going to be an amazing show. Each week I’ll be meeting fellow music fans from around the UK, getting the lowdown from the viewers on social media and bringing the best music to you at home. I can’t wait!"
Bob Shennan, Director BBC Radio and Music added: "BBC Music is thrilled to be launching ‘Sounds Like Friday Night’ on BBC One this autumn, putting music centre stage for our audience and featuring the biggest UK and international stars."
