Janet Street-Porter gave Paul O’Grady her wedding dress for Lily Savage act

Janet Street-Porter gave Paul O’Grady her wedding dress to wear as Lily Savage.
The 72-year-old star has been married four times before, and she has revealed how she gifted the gown – from her nuptials with David Sorkin in 1997 – to her friend to use as a costume for his famous drag queen act.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Loose Women’, Janet – who divorced David two years after their big day – said: "I’ve sold quite a lot of my clothes over the year.
"I’ve sold two of my wedding dresses – the fourth wedding dress I gave to Paul O’Grady as an outfit for Lily Savage, and he wore it.
"Yeah, well I’ve worn Lily Savage outfits on occasion, I’ve got to admit to that too. It does work both ways."
While the star got rid of the special outfits, Janet admitted to hording many others, and insisted she doesn’t "feel the slightest bit guilty" about having so many items of clothing stowed away.
She added: "I do keep a lot of clothes, and I don’t feel the slightest bit guilty about them.
"I open the cupboards, I’ve got every cupboard in my house – I’ve only lived in it for two years. Every single cupboard in my house, I open them up and I look at them, and I think – yes.
"The only thing is, every time I go out in the evening I’m always late, and my latest excuse is I get three different outfits out, try them on, you know. I just love clothes."
Before she was with David, Janet – who has been in a relationship with Peter Spanton for 20 years – was previously married to photographer Tim Street-Porter (1967 to 1975), publisher Tony Elliott (1975 to 1977) and filmmaker Frank Cvitanovich from 1979 to 1981.
