Jane McDonald wanted for Hollyoaks cameo

Jane McDonald is wanted for a cameo in ‘Hollyoaks’.
Ross Adams – who plays Scott Drinkwell in the Channel 4 soap – would love the 55-year-old singer to grace the famous fictional village for a short stint, and he already has a storyline in mind for the ‘Cruising with Jane McDonald’ star.
Speaking at the TV Choice Awards at London’s Dorchester Hotel on Monday night (10.09.18), Ross exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I would love to see Jane McDonald on the show, just because I’m a huge fan. She would be my number one."
Jane shot to fame as a cruise ship singer when she appeared on BBC show ‘The Cruise’ in 1998, and Ross believes she would be the ideal person to perform a song on the soap’s Lisa’s Love Boat tug.
He added: "She would be phenomenal and I could see her on the tug boat, the love boat, doing a song.
"I can see it – it writes itself doesn’t it?"
Should Jane land a cameo in the famous village she will follow in the footsteps of the likes of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Nick Grimshaw, Eamonn Holmes, The Saturdays, and Alan Carr, who appeared in the show earlier this year with his two Irish Setter dogs Bev and Joyce.
Following his scene – in which Alan was walking his two canines in the village when he stopped to nose in on a dispute Yazz Maalik (Haiesha Mistry) was having with Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) and Diane Hutchinson (Alex Fletcher) – he joked the part could land him a BAFTA.
He said: "I’ve had a great time. I can’t wait for everyone to see my cameo.
"It’s very good – it’s got BAFTA written all over it … maybe not."
The ‘Chatty Man’ host also admitted he was glad neither of his dogs dared to dump while the cameras were rolling.
He said: "Bev had a fur ball so she was like [choking noises].
"I’m just relieved she didn’t do a poo."
