Jamie Lee Curtis penning book about selfie culture for kids

Jamie Lee Curtis is writing a new children’s book about the selfie craze.
The 58-year-old actress is an accomplished kids’ author and she’s decided to pen ‘Me, MySelfie & I: A Cautionary Tale’ – her 12th collaboration with illustrator Laura Cornell – to warn young people about the importance of not allowing their lives to be ruled by technology.
Jamie said: "My new book is my response to the ‘selfie’ craze that has taken over the world. I hope that ‘Me, MySelfie & I’ will open a dialogue about the impact of smartphone technology on families.
Although the tome is to have an important message, the ‘Scream Queens’ star insists it will still be "fun" as the reader follows the life of a mother who receives her first smartphone as a birthday gift and after being taught how to take selfies by her daughters decides to photograph everything that happens in her life, until her girls remind her to put the phone down and enjoy the moment.
She said: "It will provide a fun and whimsical take on our obsession with self-documentation, while also showing the value in looking beyond the screen and living in the moment."
All of Jamie’s books contain life lessons for children and her previous releases include ‘Tell Me Again About The Night I was Born’, ‘I’m Gonna Like Me: Letting Off a Little Self-Esteem’, ‘Is There Really a Human Race?’ and ‘My Mommy Hung the Moon: A Love Story’.
‘Me, MySelfie & I: A Cautionary Tale’ will be published by Feiwel and Friends and will be available to buy from autumn 2018.
