Jamie Laing out of Strictly Come Dancing due to injury

Jamie Laing has pulled out of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ due to injury.
The former ‘Made In Chelsea’ star’s future on the BBC Latin and ballroom show had been in doubt after he hurt his foot in a group routine, and now it has been confirmed he won’t be able to compete in the upcoming series.
He said: "I’m absolutely devastated that I’m unable to continue in the competition, I was so excited to hit the dance floor!
"I would like to wish the lovely couples all the very best and hope they enjoy their time on the show to the fullest."
Although he won’t be taking part, he will still appear on this weekend’s pre-recorded ‘Strictly’ launch show on Saturday (07.09.19).
The programme’s executive producer Sarah James added: "We are so sad that Jamie won’t be able to take part in the series, he had already lit up the ballroom during the launch show with his boundless energy and enthusiasm.
"We all wish him a full and speedy recovery."
The official announcement follows reports Jamie, 30, was forced to use crutches and wear a foot brace after falling during a group routine.
Bosses were hoping it was just an awkward landing, but it has now been revealed it will rule him out of the competition.
Jamie has a background in contemporary dance, and he recently insisted it wouldn’t be an advantage on the show.
He said: "Contemporary dance you can do anything you want, I feel like if you’re given some ribbons and you roll about on the floor, everyone is going to be like ‘that is contemporary’ …
"[At the time], it was the worst thing in the world, I’d wake up every day and think ‘why have I done this.’ "
