Jamie Laing ‘cried’ over Strictly Come Dancing exit

Jamie Laing "cried" over quitting ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The ‘Made In Chelsea’ star was forced to pull out of the upcoming new series of the BBC’s Latin and ballroom competition due to injury, and he admitted it was heartbreaking realising he couldn’t take part.
Appearing on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, he said: "Oh, I cried! I just wanted to be Madonna!"
Jamie, 30, suffered the injury – a painful ligament tear – during the group dance for the show’s launch, but he tried to push through despite being in agony.
He added: "I honestly thought I was Billy Elliot, I just wanted to dance. It came to the day, it hurt a little bit but we warmed up and I was fine.
"We’ve been practising this dance for three and a half weeks and I [danced] into the wonderful [Oti Mabuse] and as I popped up in the air like a jack in the box. It felt like someone had hit me on the back of it [foot] with a belt.
"There was popping in my foot. It’s like stepping on glass and I grabbed Oti and said ‘Oti, something’s happened in my foot!’ And she just went ‘Dance!’ and I went ‘Okay!’
"Because I think with those dancers they go through pain and struggles the entire time, the show must go on! And being British, you just smile and go through the entire thing."
With Jamie out of the competition, he has been replaced by ‘Emmerdale’ actor Kelvin Fletcher, and the soap star admitted last week it had been a "surreal" few days after he was brought into the ‘Strictly’ line up.
He said: "Is this really happening?! It’s been the most surreal week of my life! I’m a massive fan of ‘Strictly’ so it’s incredible.
"I’m so happy that I can be a part of it, but at the same time it’s quite bittersweet! I’m coming in on the back of Jamie’s injury – I keep thinking about him! I can’t imagine going through all this excitement and then having to pull out.
"My thoughts are with him – he seems like a fantastic guy and I hope he’s doing OK."
