James Nesbitt going grey for Cold Feet

James Nesbitt has hinted he will be going grey for ‘Cold Feet’.
The 53-year-old actor – who will return with the rest of the cast later this year – admitted it was time his character Adam Williams stopped dyeing his hair in the ITV comedy drama, and suggested he should grow up.
He told The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: "Adam might give up all the hair dyeing and all of that. It was never my bloody idea in the first place.
"There comes a time when someone looks in the mirror and they say, ‘You’re over 50, let it go’. We might see him growing up a bit, in terms of personality and also physical appearance."
The star also addressed his character’s actions in the previous series – the second since its revival in 2016 – which saw him cheat on girlfriend Tina Reynolds (Leanne Best) with his work colleague Sarah Poynter (Amy Huberman).
While Adam admitted his alter-ego is "flawed", he is hoping his "likeability returns" after his character was unfaithful.
He added: "That’s quite a serious point. It’s very important that Adam’s likeability returns.
"Adam is flawed and an idiot but I think that was a wee bit of a challenge in the last series, so I’m really excited about the new one."
‘Cold Feet’ ran for five series until 2003, and made a highly anticipated comeback 13 years later.
Polly Hill, ITV’s head of drama, previously confirmed six new episodes of the Manchester-based show, with James joined by cast mates Hermione Norris, Robert Bathurst, Fay Ripley and John Thomson.
Writer and creator Mike Bullen said: "I’m delighted that viewers still feel invested in the lives and loves of our imperfect heroes. And I’m excited that we’re being given the opportunity to tell the next chapter of their stories.
"We’ve got plenty of trials and tribulations in store for them as they navigate their way through middle age, and more than a few laughs and tears along the way."
