James Jordan unsure about Strictly future

James Jordan has hinted he wasn’t fired from ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

The professional dancer hit the headlines last weekend after reportedly being axed from the main line-up, resulting in a furious row with the BBC that put his wife and fellow dancer Ola Jordan’s future on the show into question.

While maintaining that he and Ola are a package deal, the suave star has now revealed his time on the ballroom dancing contest will come to an end on his own terms.

Speaking at The Fragrance Foundation Awards at The Brewery in London, James cryptically told BANG Showbiz: "We started ‘Strictly’ together and we always said we would leave ‘Strictly’ together. But things change, and you never know. We haven’t actually decided yet what we’re going to do.

"And don’t believe everything you read. I will be releasing my own side of things soon!"

If James does stay on the show, he wants to see some big changes on the judging panel because he believes Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli aren’t up to scratch.

He said: "I’ve said for years, get rid of some of the judges. They like to change a lot of things don’t they, the BBC, but the judging panels always stay the same. I think Len Goodman needs to stay; he’s head judge, he knows what he’s talking about, he’s from the ballroom and Latin dancing world, and he’s very quick witted.

"I think Darcey Bussell is a great addition to the ‘Strictly’ family in her own right, she is an amazing dancer. I have no qualms with her, but maybe kick out the other two."

The dancer isn’t a fan of Craig and Bruno’s comedy quips and believes the judges should spend more time giving professional advice and less time telling jokes.

He explained: "People at home don’t necessarily want to see the judges just trying to be funny all the time. That can sometimes in itself become a bit predictable.

"They’re there essentially to judge the dancing instead of just being there to make themselves look funny. It does get a bit panto-y sometimes."
