James Jordan: Strictly will ‘stitch up’ wife Ola

James Jordan has warned his wife Ola that ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ will "stitch her up".

The 36-year-old dancer left the series after eight years over a dispute with producers – who offered him a reduced role going forward – and he worries his spouse may get similar treatment.

He told her: "I reckon the BBC will stitch you up this year. That will definitely happen."

James left ‘Strictly’ on shaky terms in May when he turned down the BBC’s offer to only appear on special episodes, such as Christmas and charity instalments, but not the main series.

He has now vowed to avoid the show when it returns later this year and will watch rival show ‘The X Factor’ instead.

He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I’m going to sit at home, crack open a beer with my mates and watch ‘X Factor’."

James – whose wife has already signed up for the new series – also expressed concerns over the new presenting duo of Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman and thinks a male presenter should have been hired to replace Sir Bruce Forsyth.

He added: "I think Claudia and Tess individually are fantastic people. Do I think it’s going to work for Strictly? I don’t know.

"I’m a firm believer that ballroom and Latin dancing is about a man dancing with a woman and I thought it was nice to have a man presenting as well."
