James Corden’s ‘The Late Late Show’ could be moving to the UK.
A number of British broadcasters are reportedly battling to air the 36-year-old TV presenter’s US chat show, having been so successful over in the States since he took over in March, with appearances from stars including One Direction, Anna Kendrick and Justin Bieber.
CBS Distribution president and chief executive Armando Nunezsaid said: "The wheel is turning right now. James has done a phenomenal job of reinventing that show. He’s an amazing talent and is engaging and captivating and is fast on his feet. He has a very endearing quality about him."
Unfortunately, however, if ‘The Late Late Show’ does move to the UK, it’s unlikely to be broadcast before the end of the year, as the ‘Wrong Mans’ star is said to have requested producers wait until the show is fully developed in the States, and has asked for a few months longer in the chair.
The hit has already been sold by CBS Studios International to global broadcasters including Canada, Australia and Japan, but James has previously said he is "gobsmacked" by the reaction to ‘The Late, Late Show’, and never expected to win so much praise so quickly.
He said: "I was so braced for the show to be torn apart that I’m gobsmacked by how quickly people have taken to it.
"And it’s amazing to be able to sit with people like Tom Hanks and Will Ferrell and just be in their orbit for a bit."
