James Corden to voice Peter Rabbit in live-action and animation movie

James Corden is reportedly set to voice Peter Rabbit in the new live-action animation movie.
The 38-year-old actor and TV presenter, who currently hosts ‘The Late, Late Show’, could be about to head Down Under when American director Will Gluck shoots his ‘Peter Rabbit’ live-action and animation film in Sydney, Australia.
James is expected to voice Beatrix Potter’s iconic bunny character in the movie alongside ‘Spy’ actress Rose Bryne who is playing an unnamed live-action role, according to the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper.
The film, produced by Animal Logic – which also shot ‘The Lego Batman Movie’ and ‘The Lego Ninjago Movie’ – is in pre-production and live-action filming is expected to start in January.
Zareh Nalbandian, Chief Executive of Animal Logic, tipped ‘Peter Rabbit’ as a major Hollywood release.
He said: "There are so many great characters in Beatrix Potter’s books that we’ll just be scratching the surface for what we can do. It’s a big film that will be more than a two-year endeavour for us from go to whoa."
The film will centre on the traditional feud between Peter and the McGregor family.
Zareh added: "Our film will be playing to that in a very contemporary and hopefully very inventive way.
"They’ve (Peter Rabbit books have) been popular for a hundred years but there’s never been a feature film made of Peter Rabbit, let alone a live-action feature film presented with high-end digital technology in terms of realising the characters in a contemporary world."
Beatrix Potter’s series of ‘Peter Rabbit’ books have sold more than 150 million copies in 35 languages worldwide.
