James Blunt is set to perform a special show at the home of the Chelsea Pensioners in West London next summer.
As part of the ‘Live At Chelsea Concert Series 2018’, the ‘You’re Beautiful’ hitmaker – who served as an Army Officer in the Kosovo War in 1998 until 1991 – will perform for his own kind at the outdoor event held at the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea on June 16, 2018.
On performing the very special show at the hospital, James said: "I am thrilled to be able to perform at the Royal Hospital Chelsea in West London. It’s where I now call home, and it will be great to be amongst friends and many familiar faces in the crowd."
It follows on from a busy 2017 for the 43-year-old singer/songwriter who has just come off a huge tour of the US with his pal Ed Sheeran.
The ‘Shape of You’ hitmaker co-wrote ‘Make Me Better’ on the ‘Don’t Give Me Those Eyes’ singer’s latest record ‘The Afterlove’.
Asked if he’ll collaborate with Ed again, James exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I really enjoyed writing with Ed. Let’s wait it out and see, I think we are enjoying touring at the moment.
"I think both of us are not necessarily in full writing mode at the moment, but we’ll see."
The’ Live At Chelsea Concert Series’ returns for its fourth year, and has previously seen the likes of Rufus Wainwright, Ludovico Einaudi, Simply Red and Belle & Sebastian perform for the pensioners and audience members.
Tickets for next year go on sale on Friday (10.11.17) from 10am with prices ranging from £35 to £55.
A portion of the ticket sales from the event is donated towards the care of the Chelsea Pensioners, as well as, the maintenance of the Grade I listed site, which has provided care and comradeship to ex-military personnel since 1682 when it was founded by King Charles II.
More acts are expected to be announced in the coming months, information can be found at www.chelsea-pensioners.org.uk
