James Arthur: I changed The X Factor

James Arthur thinks he has changed the face of ‘The X Factor’.
The 28-year-old singer rose to fame after winning the ninth series of the ITV talent show in 2012 and feels he is due credit from the show and Simon Cowell’s label Syco for showing that it is possible to be successful by going it alone.
He said: "I’ve changed the game.
"I wanted that, coming back to ‘X Factor’ and Syco; maybe they’ll recognise what I did in terms of how contestants approach the process of being on ‘The X Factor’ now. You can do things your own way."
The ‘Recovery’ hitmaker was subject to controversy in 2013 after he found himself in a Twitter feud with Micky Worthless which saw him use derogatory homophobic language toward the rapper, and ultimately got him kicked from his spot with label Syco.
However, James rejoined the 57-year-old music mogul’s label because he would have been a "fool" not to as they are notorious for giving singers the boot.
Asked why he came back, James told the Daily Star newspaper: "Because I’m a sucker for the story. I mean, what a compliment. They notoriously let people go, so to ask me back, I would’ve been a fool to say no. It’s a bit of a fairy tale, a 360, full-circle thing."
Meanwhile, the hunky star has been offering his support to 2015 ‘X Factor’ winner Louisa Johnson.
He said: "I spoke to Louisa Johnson recently I reiterated my mantra, which is to stay in the present.
"I could help when they get stressed out with it all."
James released his brand new album ‘Back from the Edge’ today (28.10.16).
