James Argent makes debut presenting Good Morning Britain

James ‘Arg’ Argent made his debut presenting ‘Good Morning Britain’ on Monday (22.04.19).
The reality star – who is dating his ‘The Only Way is Essex’ co-star Gemma Collins – stood in for Richard Arnold on the early morning show and revealed he had dropped his phone in the bath whilst listening to Beyonce before arriving for his shift.
As they played the pop superstar’s song ‘Halo’, James, who sang along, said: "I’m not going to lie, this morning I put on Halo by Beyonce, Gemma is a huge fan.
"Here we go, Halo, I had this on, but I dropped my phone in the bath and I started panicking. But luckily it’s waterproof."
The 31-year-old television personality – who is eight months sober after he went to rehab for the third time to battle alcohol and drug addictions last year – also turned down a Mojito live on air as his co-host Kate Garraway and Richard Madeley bantered over Labour MP Dianne Abbot having a sneaky can of the cocktail drink on an overgrown train over Easter weekend.
Arg politely turned down the offer, and said: "Do you know what, I’m going to say no. I’m eight months clean and sober."
He continued: "It was a decision I made eight months ago but I’m not against her having a good time.
"I was thinking is she (Abbot) an Essex girl? That is very much an Essex girl thing to do.
"I feel fantastic."
Arg had previously revealed he prepared for the presenting gig by watching Richard in action last month.
The ITV show’s Entertainment Editor said: "Arg is my apprentice today because he’s filling in for me on Easter Monday."
His apprentice then quipped: "You’re Mr Miyagi and I’m the Karate Kid."
