Jake Quickenden quits social media over cruel trolls

Jake Quickenden has quit social media after being called "worthless" by cruel trolls.
The ‘Hollyoaks’ actor – who joined the soap cast as builder Woody last year – has decided to take a step back after online bullies made him doubt himself.
He wrote on Instagram: "Gonna be coming off social media for a little while, honestly it’s not been good for my head.
"Only so many times a day you can get called worthless or irrelevant, I say it doesn’t bother me but sometimes it does, I start doubting myself and I’m just doing what anyone does trying to work to earn a living!!
"Thank you to the people that are always lovely! Happy new year! (sic)"
Many of Jake’s famous friends were quick to rally round him after his candid post, including Blue singer Antony Costa who told him to "ignore" the haters.
The 31-year-old star also received some words of support from Josie Gibson, who added: "Those people have taken time out of their day to comment on you… even if it is negative at least your on their minds mate (sic)"
And ‘Dancing On Ice’ star Max Evans wrote: "Love you brother, always here for you, you have my number big man x (sic)"
Jake later took to his Instagram Story to thank everyone for their support, while confirming he will be back on social media when he feels ready.
He said: "A lot of people have reached out and said some amazing things so cheers!
"I won’t be staying away forever just having a few days where I don’t have to think about anything!
"And I also won’t let the odd troll dim my light, from now on I won’t even respond to hate or negativity…. see you soon could be a few days could be a few weeks… (sic)"
