Jai Courtney wants to appear in The Flash

Jai Courtney wants to appear in ‘The Flash’ film as Captain Boomerang.
The 30-year-old actor portrayed the supervillain in ‘Suicide Squad’ in the anti-hero blockbuster which also starred Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Will Smith as Deadshot and featured a brief cameo from Ezra Miller as super-fast superhero The Flash.
Rumours have circulated that Boomerang could be an adversary for Barry Allen’s alter ego in the upcoming standalone movie and Jai is very keen to increase his appearances in the DC Extended Universe as criminal George ‘Digger’ Harkness, who is a regular foe of The Flash in the DC Comics series.
When asked about reports he is to star in ‘The Flash’, Jai coyly said: "Is that the rumour? I like that rumour, I like that a lot."
Although ‘Suicide Squad’ performed well at the box office it received less than favourable reviews from many critics.
However, Jai insists he is very pleased with how the movie appeared on the big screen and has praised director David Ayer for taking the risky decisions he did on the project and he hopes everyone gets back together for a sequel.
In an interview with MTV’s Josh Horowitz on his Happy Sad Confused! podcast, the Australian hunk said: "How do you please everyone? I don’t think ‘Suicide Squad’ ever intended to. No one’s setting out to upset the fan base, certainly not a fan base that can be as loyal as this kind of crowd can. But I don’t know how you can push the envelope or try and protect something … I know what I like in a movie, and it’s not the same thing as my 12-year-old niece. It’s a challenge, and David did an incredible job, and I sure as hell hope we get to make another one with him."
Jai also took a swipe at DC’s comic book rival Marvel insisting the reason why the Marvel Studios movies are so well received is because they’ve now had years of experience building the Marvel Cinematic Universe, whereas DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Pictures are just beginning to increase the characters that appear on the big screen after traditionally sticking to Batman and Superman movies.
He said: "They’ve [Marvel] had the time to let that s**t marinate. Everything’s established now, we don’t have to figure out who anyone is. It’s like, ‘Cool. Get them all together and let’s have a f***ing orgy and make a billion dollars.’ "
Shooting is due to start on ‘The Flash’ film in January 2017 and will follow-on from the events of the ‘Justice League’ movie.
